INTRODUCTION
Cryotherapy has been well established as a successful and preferred method of destroying tissue while keeping the fibrous structure intact. This treatment method is being accepted as the preferred technique by the medical profession because of its wide acceptance by the patient, it is doctor friendly because of its ease and short duration of application and results in little to no scar formation.

THE WORKING PRINCIPLE
The cartridge is filled with liquid N2O (83%) and the rest with N2O gas. The liquid N2O is the refrigerant and the N2O gas is the propellant. The innovation of the CryoProbe is ability to achieve a constant flow of liquid N2O out of the micro-applicator tip. This is made possible by maintaining the pressure level within the instrument until the liquid N2O leave the tip of the micro-applicator, whereupon it will immediately expand.

ABOUT THE CRYOPROBE
The CryoProbe is an original and compact solution for cryotherapeutic application. The instrument is easy to transport and safe for both the physician and the patient. Treatment is odorless and causes little to no pain making this treatment method very suitable for use on children. The learning curve for the use of this instrument is simple and the user’s skills will improve rapidly with experience. The CryoProbe offers the clinician the ability to control precise, pinpoint application of the refrigerant to the tissue being treated at a constant flow of minus 127°F.

CARTRIDGES AND APPLICATORS
Liquid N2O is applied directly to the tissues to be treated by means of a micro-applicator which controls the diameter of the liquid N2O spray. Two different size applicators are supplied with the instrument. Choosing the correct micro-applicator will prevent the uncontrolled application of refrigerant to healthy tissue.

INDICATIONS FOR USE
The CryoProbe is ideal for the treatment of most types of skin mass lesions such as warts, fibropappilomas, keratoses, hemangiomas, skin tags, granulomas, brown skin spots, age / liver spots (solar lentigo) and others. These skin lesions can be treated easily and efficiently frequently in only one treatment session.

TREATMENT PROCEDURES
After a few seconds of treatment they might experience a mild stinging sensation and that the treatment duration is ultra short. There might be a little residual stinging for a few moments after the treatment has stopped. Occasionally, a blister might form and persist for a few days.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PROCEDURE
* Two to six hours after freezing, an erythematous area surrounds the lesions
* In four to six days, the tissue discolors and turns dark
* In seven to ten days post freezing, the lesion will slough and a scab will form
* Complete healing occurs in two to three weeks post freezing and there is rarely a scar
* On rare occasions a blister will form at the site of freezing
